Tell us a bit about yourself:

Mel Cronin recently moved back home to Central PA after living in Pittsburgh for 14 years to be closer to family. Mel has extensive experience working with nonprofits and has served in a variety of roles specializing in project and program management. Her background is in food justice and food security, and she previously had roles helping to operationally build several start-up programs and organizations.

She brings her experience to the Dawn Chorus Group as the Project Manager. In this role, Mel will help facilitate the successes of the partnerships with the amazing organizations DCG is working with.

Mel received her BA in Sociology and Graduate Certificate in International NGO Management from James Madison University. She received the 40 Under 40 Award recognizing her work building a new Home Delivery program in response to the COVID-19 pandemic disrupting many community members’ ability to access food.

In her free time, Mel enjoys taking her dog out for adventures, sitting around campfires, building friendships with squirrels, and puzzling.

What drew you to The Candy  Factory?

Where to start! The inviting nature of the staff and other members, the plants (!!), the resources provided, the opportunities/events, and the overall focus on community building. The space itself is absolutely stunning as well.
