“We started Ronin Kai after training for several years in Marietta and Mount Joy,” started Matthew Fried. “We want to pass on our combined knowledge of training new students in Danzan Ryu Jujitsu, Meishin Musu Ryu Iaido, Pacific Asian Restorative Therapy and self-defense.”
Rōnin translates to “feudal sumurai” or someone adrift or without a home. After classes ended in Mount Joy, Ronin Kai members practiced wherever they could — garages, basements, living rooms and bedrooms.
Ronin Kai relocated to The Candy Factory’s Groundworks location.
“Our classes are offered to adults ages 15-100. “We’ve opened our doors for First Friday events and self-defense seminars and hope to continue to do so,” said Matthew.
