Q: What are some of your most cherished moments or memories from past Pride celebrations? Is there a particular Pride event or experience that stands out to you?
A:“One of my favorites was celebrating Pride on a cruise I took to Alaska. It was so great to see everyone celebrating together.”
Q: In your opinion, what is the most significant progress or positive change that the LGBTQ+ community has achieved in recent years? How does it inspire you personally?
A:“Getting LGBTQ+ people seen in all walks of life and encouraging them to speak out. Giving the younger generation role models I never had to see people like themselves. It inspires me to be more politically active to ensure we continue to be free to live our lives being who we are without fear. “
Q: Can you share a heartwarming or funny anecdote related to your LGBTQ+ journey or experiences? Something that brings a smile to your face when you think about it during Pride Month.
A:“I think one of my fondest memories was a couple of summers I spent in Provincetown MA. It’s well-known as an LGBTQ destination. It was so comfortable to be yourself, and walk hand in hand without fearing judgment from anyone. I always hated leaving at the end of the week.”
Q: How has the Lancaster and/or TCF community impacted your LGBTQ+ journey? Any tips for connecting with others locally?
A: “I was absolutely amazed by the incredible turnout at Pride in Lancaster, especially coming from Philadelphia. The sheer number of people celebrating their true selves was truly awe-inspiring. Additionally, I feel incredibly fortunate to be working at The Candy Factory. The Candy Factory wholeheartedly embraces and supports individuals from all walks of life, fostering an inclusive environment that celebrates diversity and collaboration.”
