Randall received Bachelors’s and Masters’s degrees from the Pennsylvania State University in electrical engineering. He spent 15 years working as an embedded systems designer and utilizing connected systems. He became a stay-at-home dad and started a consulting business, BigWindow LLC, which provides embedded engineering and managed technology services. Randall designs IOT (internet of things) telemetry systems, performs security audits, and teaches classes on Internet security. In 1999 he launched euroSource LLC to retail European toys in an e-commerce environment.
When the CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act) became law in 2008, excluding European toys in favor of mass-produced toys from the Far East, Randall became active in lobbying for common-sense reforms both on Capitol Hill and at the CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission.) He served as Vice President, Board of Directors, of the Handmade Toy Alliance from 2009 through 2015 and has testified before the CPSC and served in an advisory role for Congressional hearings
