“The Candy Factory helped convince me to move from West Philly to Lancaster. Working remotely is great, but remote workers need to tend their own social needs – for me, The Candy Factory fills this need.”
Chad Ostrowski
Near, Inc – Software Engineer
________________
Chad has 10 years of engineering experience ranging from launching his own products to creating & teaching curricula; from contributing at startups to building tools at Comcast and Apple.
For the money or just for the love, you can often find Chad building web apps. In early 2020, he joined Near, Inc, a company based in San Francisco with worldwide employees, helping improve the experience for developers building on the NEAR Protocol, a developer-friendly blockchain that powers new types of composable, transparent apps where users are always in control of their own data.
Chad has a little startup, Entire. Life (https://entire.life) – an app to help you slow down, zoom out, and live a meaningful life. In the fall of 2018, Chad went through the TechCelerator at The Candy Factory from Ben Franklin Technology Partners, trying to figure out how to transform Entire. Life from a money-costing hobby into a money-making side business. He has not yet accomplished this goal! Catch Chad during one of his work breaks.
He likes thinking about tech, politics and the future. He’s always happy to talk about the little he knows about space exploration, tribalism, ecocide, whether or not we’re all doomed, and hope vs despair vs action.
