Feeling like you need a little more balance in your life? Try Tai Chi!

Tai Chi has often been called “meditation in motion” and more recently recognized as “medication in motion.” According to research released by the Harvard Medical School, Tai Chi has been shown to reduce stress, increase focus, and improve balance, strength, flexibility and aerobic conditioning.

To help you be at your best, The Candy Factory is pleased to announce a special “6-week Introduction To Tai Chi” program offered by Tai Chi master Jose Johnson. During this program, you will be guided step by step through a series of movements designed to bring balance back to your mind, body, and spirit. Classes will be held on Mondays from 12:15-1 pm starting January 6. The class fee is $60 for the general public and $30 for Candy Factory members.

José is an internationally recognized authority on Chinese martial arts, energy arts, and mindfulness practices. He has trained with many of the world’s top masters in numerous styles and currently holds the rank of 8th Degree black belt through the International Wushu Sanshou Dao Association. José was a member of the 1993 USA Tai Chi team that competed in the world championships in Fuzhou, China and is a two-time national champion in Tai Chi. He has also coached three U.S. national all-around forms champions. In 2008 José was included in the book “Top 100 Extraordinary Martial Artists of the World” and has been called “one of the best of the new generation of masters.”
