While cruising back to Central PA after a field trip in Washington, D.C., Anne and I were in the mood for an Italian Sunday lunch, just like Grandma used to make. Some quick Googling led us to Marino’s Pizza and Pasta House a family-owned authentic Italian restaurant located at 3595 Market St. in East York. After ordering baked penne and lasagna for our entrees, we were presented with a couple of delicious side salads to start. We must have been hungry as they were gone in a flash, or maybe it was just the outstanding creamy parmesan house dressing.

Our entrees were served with a lovely basket of garlic bread, and as usual, our eyes were bigger than our stomachs as we jokingly asked for takeout boxes as soon as the plates hit the table. The Marino’s staff was very friendly, the portions were healthy sized and delicious, and the prices were moderate, a perfect combination for a great experience and next day leftovers as well.

The Candy Factory is located in downtown Lancaster, but we’re part of the Central PA region. Our neighboring cities, York and Harrisburg, as well as all of the communities in between, have so much to offer if you’re willing to explore!
