“Approximately every two seconds, someone in the world dies of malnutrition.”
2 Seconds Or Less (2SOL) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a two-fold mission. The first is to break the cycles of poverty through the creation of educational gardens at schools in Zimbabwe. The second is to give U.S. students opportunities for global engagement that unifies and builds bridges between cultures, as well as grows their capacity for empathetic and intentional leadership through Student Vision Trips abroad.
While 2SOL’s core group is a team of three, they share the responsibility of managing the organization with countless interns and volunteers.
Christie, the Managing Director and CoFounder, is most passionate about making diverse and inclusive leadership experiences available to all students. She has her Bachelors in Theatre (specifically for social change), and is currently getting her Masters at UPenn for Education Entrepreneurship.
Emily, 2OL’s Zimbabwe Liaison, recently graduated from Penn State University where she studied Community, Environment, and Development, International Agriculture, and Nutrition. She is passionate about global nutrition, international development, food security, and social justice and through all of that, advocating for and ensuring that local community voices are valued and listened to. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, playing volleyball, and drinking tea, among other things!
Nicole, the Operations Manager, is the organizational rockstar and genius who keeps the team moving. Nicole is a Millersville graduate with a communications degree, and a heart for travel and adventure. When she’s not at the office, she’s hustling on her photography business, shooting weddings and elopements around the world, or snuggling her pup, Sophie.
As their story continues to unfold, we ask you to join our mission to end childhood malnutrition. Plant a seed – Save a life!
