From an early age, Othelia found great joy in learning math. Then, in middle school, she learned about the benefits of entrepreneurship and a seed was planted. Flash forward to 2016, Othelia graduated with a B.S. in Mathematics from Millersville University. Her passion and curiosity collided the following spring when she founded The Math Mentors tutoring company and began her membership at The Candy Factory. The Math Mentors specializes in math tutoring and SAT preparation and is developing group tutoring workshops and summer camps. Othelia’s favorite subjects to tutor are Algebra and Geometry. Students admire her clear explanations and passionate approach to teaching.
Being a member of The Candy Factory has been a delight for her over the years. It has brought up numerous opportunities to meet fellow entrepreneurs in the community and network with members and visitors of the space. Othelia is now part of The Candy Factory team, responsible for closing and curating the facility. Over the years she has offered meditation guidance and currently hosts a mediation meeting Wednesday mornings in The Studios.
