With countless get-togethers, a seemingly endless shopping list and cooking for the entire family, the winter holiday can be an especially challenging and stressful time of year. The Candy Factory invites you to ward off the dizzying array of holiday demands with yoga and meditation.

Led by Maelis Mittig, guests will be guided through a four week series based on Miguel Ruiz’s “The Four Agreements”. Each week will focus on a specific theme/agreement to engage the mind, body and soul. Guests do not need to attend all four sessions.

“For me, yoga and meditation act as catalysts for clarity,” started Mittig. “I am able to organize my thoughts, relax my breathing and honor the abundance of divine energy that surrounds us.”

Mittig has been practicing yoga and meditation at varying forms for over 10 years and is currently enrolled in a certified instructors course at Evolution Power Yoga. Mittig has invested a depth of spiritual research and physical practices to perfect her form and teachings.

Recently, having relocated to Lancaster from New York City, Mittig appreciates the many opportunities for personal growth here.

“Lancaster has a lot to offer by way of yoga and meditation. People appreciate life here and I think that’s reflective in the numerous outlets for creativity,” said Mittig.

When it comes to first-timers, she offers three words of advice: be kind patient, be kind and open-minded.
