Anne Kirby founded The Candy Factory, a community impact coworking space in Lancaster, PA, over 9 years ago out of her passion for collaboration, accessibility, sustainability, and having a positive impact on her community. It was born out of a local networking group called The Creative House of Lancaster that she started in 2007 to meet other creatives in the area. Anne began to explore the idea of coworking, or sharing workspace with others, and discovered the coworking movement, which began in San Francisco in 2006. She rallied enough CHL members to launch The Candy Factory in 2010 in a renovated section an old candy factory (literally) in downtown Lancaster.

Over the years, the space has grown into a 20,000 square foot coworking campus and community hub with over 200 members that include entrepreneurs, remote workers, students, and more who gather to get work done, collaborate and share ideas, and be saved from the isolation of working at home. The campus is also the home for dozens of events each month, from technology meetups to lunch and learns to chill nights in the space’s Sixth Floor social club.

The DO.ERS podcast, hosted by The Candy Factory, will be showcasing creators, innovators, and entrepreneurs, of Lancaster, PA and the greater Central PA region.
