York-based blues rock band, Buzzard Luck, will take the stage at Tellus360, 24 E. King St. in Lancaster, along with three other top-notch blues acts for City Blues Night on Friday, March 8th. Other acts include Philly’s Bluestime, and Lancaster’s Blues on the Loose and The Mystic Alpacas, the latter being the project of legendary sax man, Randy Bucksner, who books the City Blues Night series.
Buzzard Luck formed in 2013 out of the vibrant York music scene when drummer Kelly McClain met lead guitarist and vocalist Drew Kiniry at an open mic. Soon after they accepted hosting duties at the Wednesday night blues jam at The Circle in Hanover, PA, where they have faithfully hosted ever since.
Joined on bass by Keith Weiser, the trio also hosts a third Thursday jam at Shanks Tavern in Marietta, PA. “Hosting the open jams allows us to play with many musicians of all genres and make new friends in the local music scene,” McClain explained. In addition to open jams, Buzzard Luck stays busy performing all around Central PA. “We all have been local to the area, some of us our whole lives, and have deep roots here. Venues that we are now playing on stage used to be where we went to see our friends bands play.”
Look for new Buzzard Luck tracks on an upcoming compilation from the Blues Society of Central PA to complement their debut release, Crystal Ball Conspiracy, from 2017. Catch them live at Tellus360 on Friday, March 8th for City Blues Night. You can find them online here or on Spotify below.
