With a mission to bring downtown Lancaster high quality, fresh, organic and locally sourced foods, The Bread Pedaler delivered. A friend (and Candy Factory alumni) recently recommended this relatively new spot (est. 2018) at 116 W. Orange Street for a casual breakfast meeting and I was eager to try it.
The cozy cafe has the feel of a coffee shop, but a full menu of delightful breakfast and lunch fare including sandwiches, soups, salads, and even specialty tacos! There are a few specific choices for the kids, including a nice breakfast option of an egg, meat, and toast for only $3. Since our visit was for breakfast, I chose the Mediterranean breakfast bowl that was served with a spinach and kale mix, two eggs, tapenade, tomatoes, tzatziki, and toast. The portion was a perfect size to jumpstart my day, and the ingredients were fresh and delicious, just as advertised.
The coffee was fresh and hot, and the environment was very comfortable for a casual conversation. I’m looking forward to coming back to try the lunch selections soon! The doors are open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday at the corner of Orange Street and Water Street in downtown Lancaster, only a few blocks walk from The Candy Factory.
